Active Projects

This competency-based, clinical intensive, and self-paced Master of Education (M.Ed.) and licensure in high school biology, high school chemistry, or middle or high school mathematics, first offered in the state of Massachusetts through the High Meadows Graduate Program, is currently undergoing the approval process for state-level approval through both the Kansas State Department of Education (K-12) and the Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR).  Once approved, this program will be included in Jayhawk Global through the School of Education and Human Sciences (SoEHS).

Jayhawk Global is in the beginning stages of development. Competency-based education is a foundational tenet of Jayhawk Global. As such, C3Be is currently working with various university partners on preparing programs and departments for the launch of Jayhawk Global in the 2024-2025 academic year.

Completed Projects

C3Be and Assessment & Technology Solutions (ATS), two centers within the Achievement & Assessment Institute (AAI) at KU, are collaborating with EnterpriseKC to develop assessments to identify cybersecurity talent, as well as development of a Talent Exchange.

C3Be conducted an alignment study of selected industry-recognized IT certifications to selected courses within the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) degree program for the School of Professional Studies (SPS) at the KU Edwards campus for possible granting of credit for prior learning (CPL).

C3Be worked with the Center for Conative Abilities/Kolbe Corp on a process to identify micro-credentialing solutions.

C3Be worked with the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) to develop a curriculum map and accompanying visuals for the Basic Law Enforcement Training Curriculum used to train all law enforcement officers in the state of Kansas.

The Designing for Equity, Justice, and Innovation in Education (DEJIE) pilot program was offered at no cost in spring 2023 to a limited number of practicing educators to assist in deepening their practices in design thinking and the science of learning and development with the goal of teaching for justice in their classrooms, schools, and districts. The pilot now completed, will go through the required approval processes to be included in Jayhawk Global through the School of Education and Human Sciences (SoEHS).

C3Be worked with the Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute (KFRTI), located at the University of Kansas, to move the Fire Officer 1 professional development program from a seat-based instructional format to a competency-based program.

C3Be is a subcontractor on a project from the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) for the development of a competency-based relational readiness framework to be used in a non-traditional home visitor career pathway.  The project’s focus is to attract individuals interested in the home visiting profession, but do not have the formal education requirements that gain them access to employment in the field.  Exploring this non-traditional pathway to becoming a home visitor will not only grow an understaffed field, but it will improve diversity to better reflect the populations served. The relational readiness framework will address both the soft skills and the relational skills needed to effectively work with families.

C3Be is a subcontractor on a project from the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) for the development of a competency-based relational readiness assessment to be used in a non-traditional home visitor career pathway.  The assessment will be based on the relational readiness competency framework.  Both the framework and the assessment will be developed concurrently.
